在 RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 釋出幾個星期後，基於 RHEL 5 的 CentOS 5 也已經釋出。如果不想向 Redhat 購買 RHEL，而又想合法地使用較 Fedora 穩定的 Linux 發行版，CentOS 是一個很好的選擇。
